Mahatma Gandhi Week Contests - 2012

A project to create a higher awareness of the inspiring life and work of Mahatma Gandhi & continue his legacy of Truth, Non-Violence, Love, Service & Peace. The contest is open to all children in the greater Houston area. The winners of these citywide contests will be recognized at celebration of Mahatma Gandhi's birthday - 1000 Lights For Peace, Sunday, October 7, 2012.

Creative Writing / Essay Contest

Age 11 & Up

Topic: How do I
practice peace.

Creative Writing / Essay Contest: In a maximum of 650 words(High School) or 400 words(Middle School) present the respective topic. Essay must be typed, 12-point & double spaced with word count typed at the bottom. Entries must be submitted in the eletronic format at www.gandhilibrary.org or mailed to the Library office on a disc with attached Entry Form. Poster Contest: Express your self artistically on a poster by drawing, coloring, sketching, write a poem, write a prose to describe the topic.
