Essay Contest Sponsored by: Mahatma Gandhi Library, Inc. And Interfaith Ministries for Greater Houston (IM)Click here to download ENTRY FORM - (Word Document) “Gandhiji’s Relevance Today" A project to create a higher awareness of the inspiring life and work of Mahatma Gandhi and continue his legacy of non-violence and peace. The contest is open to all high school students in the greater Houston area and is part of the weeklong, city-wide celebration of Gandhi Week September 27 - October 3, 2004. In a maximum of 550 words, consider Is Gandhi's Message Still Relevant Today. Essays must be typed, 12-point and double spaced. Please include contact information (name, address, phone number/email address and school). First Place is a trip to visit the M.K. Gandhi Institute for Non-Violence in Memphis, Tennessee (Airfare and lodging included). The Gandhi Institute is on the campus of Christian Brothers University (www.gandhiinstitute.org). Second and Third Place honors will also be awarded. Essays must be received no later than 5 p.m. Wednesday, September 15, 2004. No late entries will be considered.
