City-Wide Poster Contest A project to create a higher awareness of the inspiring life and work of Mahatma Gandhi to promote universal Truth, Non-Violence, Love & Service. The contest is open to all High School and Middle School students in the greater Houston area and is part of the weeklong, city-wide celebration of Mahatma Gandhi Week as “1000 Lights For Peace” culminating on October 3, 2010. Express your self artistically on a poster by drawing, coloring, sketching, write a poem, write a prose to describe the topic. All posters must be completed in the presence of a MGL representative and within 2 hours. All supplies are provided. Age 11 & UpTopic: The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others. Age 10 & Below Topic: What do you do that makes you happy and makes others happy at the same time.
